Truthfully I've been SO busy taking care of my new lil' man that I haven't had much time for art. I hope to be able to strike a balance between the two as creating is truly cathartic for me. THE BRUCE CAMBELL WAY!
Last Thursday my husband sent me an email at work letting me know that Bruce Campbell is going to be at Metro Comics, signing autographs for is new book "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way" Saturday at 1pm! www.metroautographs.com/Mercha… of course my reaction was along the lines of "ZOMG WE HAVE TO BE THERE!" Long story short we packed our asses up to Santa Barbara today where the store is located (about an hour drive from where we live) to get ours. After wading through a mob of people, dealing with some rather dense staff and waiting for roughly and hour we got our chance to meet him and get our autograph. I was very impressed as he was a really nice and unassuming individual. Not your stereotypical actor type. I had assumed he would be pretty cool from reading his previous work. He totally shook our hands, struck up a conversation with us and even knew a bit about the area (Lompoc) we are from which surprised the hell out of me! People who live in Santa Barbara sometimes don't even know about it!
I was stoked on the whole experience except for the fact I forgot my camera. The comic store usually has a photographer there to take pictures of you with the celebrity (as they do a lot of autograph sessions) and you can't bring your own camera. This time it seems that they couldn't work out arrangements so we were S.O.L. on getting pictures with Brucey.
Important lesson learned there! I posted scans of the autograph and the tickets from the event for your perusal. Afterwards we had a nice afternoon having lunch and hanging out with a friend that my husband works with.Aside from that I haven't really created much art…still waiting for my muse to come back and smack me over the head with a frying pan, I hope. As soon as this happens I'm sure you will know!
